The Supreme Court has ruled against a longstanding loophole that let patent trolls file lawsuits in whatever district they wanted.

This includes an east Texas court that apparently was lenient towards them.

Patent trolls make their money by filing random patent infringement lawsuits against companies no matter who owned a particular patent.  They just hoped someone would settle instead of fighting it.

Some trolls intently file in already overloaded courts knowing it’ll take years to get to trial.

But the highest court in the land laid a smackdown.

This should take some pressure off innovators and tech startups- statistically the largest job creators in the country.
